The resurrection of christ
The Resurrection in the four Gospels
The Resurrection - from the burial to the appearances by the Sea of Tiberias - is told in four different gospels. Each gospel gives a different account. Do the differences recounted matter? An event which takes place in history, and at the same time outside history, is shrouded in mystery to the extent that prominent students of the New Testament such as Geza Vermes deny that it took place. This account is rooted in the different approaches to the resurrection of the body taken in the Jewish world, and goes through each gospel presentation to present an event which remains deeply mysterious, yet central to the New Testament.
